Our first batch tasted a little mushy, probably from the length of time they sat in the canner until I was able to finish stuffing all the jars and bring it to a boil.\u00a0 This time we stuffed the jars, filled the brine, removed the air and then put them all into the canner at once.\u00a0 We&#8217;re hoping this makes them crisper.\u00a0 The ones available commercially taste too bitter to me, so if they are just a little crunchier, they will be perfect.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve got some beans coming, too:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_433\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-433\" style=\"width: 224px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-13-19.15.31.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-433\" src=\"http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-13-19.15.31-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"Anellino di Trento and Royalty Purple bush beans\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-13-19.15.31-224x300.jpg 224w, http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-13-19.15.31-764x1024.jpg 764w, http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-13-19.15.31-624x835.jpg 624w, http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-13-19.15.31.jpg 1936w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-433\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Anellino di Trento and Royalty Purple bush beans<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We grilled these with a little bit of olive oil, lemon juice and dill and they were fantastic.\u00a0 We&#8217;re enjoying the beans more than normal, given that just three weeks ago we thought they were a total loss.\u00a0 Something was getting over our fence and eating the bushes.\u00a0 We suspect a woodchuck, and so we set up the electric fence around the wire one.\u00a0 Problem solved.<\/p>\n<p>After picking all those tomatoes, we parboiled, peeled, seeded and diced them into 2-cup quantities and froze them.\u00a0 We ended up with 2 bags of Krim, 3 bags of Kellogg, and a bag each of Brandywine and Roma.\u00a0 But we didn&#8217;t freeze all of them:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-17-19.22.33.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-437\" src=\"http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-17-19.22.33-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"2014-08-17 19.22.33\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-17-19.22.33-224x300.jpg 224w, http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-17-19.22.33-764x1024.jpg 764w, http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-17-19.22.33-624x835.jpg 624w, http:\/\/cocktailfarmers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-17-19.22.33.jpg 1936w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a>That is a <a title=\"Tomato Stack Salad with Corn &amp;
